Abstract
The article examines the poems from the collection 'Priceless Pearl' by the famous Ukrainian theologian, preacher and poet Kyrylo Tranquillion Stavrovetsky in the broad context of time. The features of the author's creative practice, which was inseparable from his pastoral activity, are illustrated on the example of the Resurrection and Ascension plots. It is emphasized that the basis of the artistic system of Kyrylo Tranquillion lies in the combination of Catholic and Orthodox religious and cultural traditions. European medieval liturgical drama and Orthodox hymnography, pious practices had a simultaneous influence on his work. Such a situation seems natural for the Ukrainian culture of the first half of the 17th century – the period of active search for national religious identity and the development of the Baroque style. The work of Kyrylo Tranquillion Stavrovetsky was an important link of the literary process, which synthesized the Western and Eastern traditions and in the "Domohylian" period adequately represented the achievements of domestic religious thought and art.
