Abstract

The article outlines the problem of endurance in the baroque paradigm of being on the material of Ukrainian poetic texts from the 17th and 18th centuries. This is made from three perspectives: firstly, the questions which Ukrainian baroque authors ask, thus revealing their understanding of the meaning of human existence and human destiny; secondly, the ideas of metaphysics shall be considered, which became impulses for baroque thinking and appeared in re-actualized formulations of “eternal” questions, determining the nature of the modern reception of baroque; and thirdly, the projections of baroque symbols in the poetic thinking in the 20th and 21st centuries shall be analysed.
